Day 1

Welcome to Yangon and transfer to Golden Rock

Welcome to Yangon and transfer to Golden Rock From the moment you arrive in Yangon, you can expect first class service with a personalised meet and greet from our friendly driver.Let us help you with your luggage whilst you sit back, relax and enjoy a safe and comfortable drive to the Golden Rock. Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) is a well- known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a beautiful small pagoda (7.3 metres, 24 ft) impressively built on the top of a granite boulder and covered with golden leaves that were pasted on by its male devotees.

According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha‘s hair. The spectacular balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill.The rock and the pagoda both sit at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo. Lunch will be served at a delicious local restaurant. Enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure.

Don’t miss the chance to enjoy one of Myanmar’s most impressive sunset views at the Golden- Rock Pagoda. A delicious dinner of local dishes will be served. Overnight at your comfortable hotel.

Day 2

A Day at Hpa- An

After a restful night’s sleep, we will rise early to enjoy the unmissable morning sunrise at Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) before leisurely descending the mountain and boarding our transport back to base camp.Enjoy a comfortable drive to Hpa An, the capital of Kayin state. Here we will take some time to explore our magnificent surroundings, the most famous being Kawgun Cave, Bayint Ni Naung Cave and Sadan Cave.

Following our explorations at the caves we will head to the beautiful Lumbini garden. Located at the foot of Zwegabin Mountain, Lumbini garden offers the perfect opportunity for us to rest and unwind before heading to the unique hilltop pagoda of Kyauk Kalap.As the evening falls on a day of adventures, we will enjoy sunset views from the Shwe Yin Myaw Pagoda before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay at Hpa An.

 

 

 

Day 3

Transfer to Yangon

Enjoy a hearty, hotel breakfast before departing to Hpa-An at 7:00 AM and heading to Bago. Today’s journey takes us to Bago to visit Kyikepun, the famous four faces pagoda which is over a thousand years old.

We will also take some time to visit the impressive Shwemawdaw Pagoda whose spire is even taller than that of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda. We will then continue on to spend some time marvelling at the 55 m long Shwethalyaung reclining pagoda, one of Myanmar’s most sacred sites. After learning about the Shwethalyaung pagoda, we will go on to visit the fascinating Kanbawzathadi, the palace of King Bayintnaung.After a cultural day of sightseeing, we will head back to Yangon. On the way, we will visit the reclusive World War II memorial site near Yangon, Htaukkyan. The Allied War Cemetery is the final resting place for over 27,000 Allied soldiers and a must see whilst we are passing.
