Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) is a well- known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a beautiful small pagoda (7.3 metres, 24 ft) impressively built on the top of a granite boulder and covered with golden leaves that were pasted on by its male devotees.
According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha‘s hair. The spectacular balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill. The rock and the pagoda both sit at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo.

Day 2
Bago Sightseeing
Enjoy a hearty, hotel breakfast before departing from Golden Rock at 7:00 AM and heading to Bago. Today’s journey takes us to Bago to visit Kyikepun, the famous four faces pagoda which is over a thousand years old.
We will also take some time to visit the impressive Shwemawdaw Pagoda whose spire is even taller than that of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda.
We will then continue on to spend some time marvelling at the 55 m long Shwethalyaung reclining pagoda, one of Myanmar’s most sacred sites. After learning about the Shwethalyaung pagoda, we will go on to visit the fascinating Kanbawzathadi, the palace of King Bayintnaung.
After a cultural day of sightseeing, we will head back to Yangon. On the way, we will visit the reclusive World War II memorial site near Yangon, Htaukkyan. The Allied War Cemetery is the final resting place for over 27,000 Allied soldiers and a must see whilst we are passing.Our driver will drop you to the bus station to catch a bus your next destination.Overnight bus to Bagan.
Day 3
A Day at Bagan
On arrival to the ancient city,we will continue our journey with a visit to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda where we will be introduced to Bagan’s rich history.
Next up, get ready to immerse yourself in the full grandeur of Burmese culture at Htilominlo, one of the largest and most impressive temples in Bagan. Let yourself get lost in the splendour of its fine plaster carvings over its arch pediments, frieze and other stunning architectural qualities.
Lunch will be served at a delicious local restaurant before a comfortable transfer to your hotel to take some rest for 1-2 hours.
Our afternoon of adventure begins with a visit to Ananda Temple. Built in the early Mon-Myanmar style, the Ananda Temple is an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan’s most beautiful temples. Ananda contains two unique Buddha images. The Buddha’s expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the statue is viewed making this temple a truly unique and exciting experience.
Next visit is the unforgettable Thatbyinnyu Temple, an asymmetrical cross-shaped temple built in the middle of the 12th century.Sit back, relax and enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the rolling plains spanning Sunset Hill. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4
Bagan to Mandalay
After delicious breakfast, we will take a comfortable car ride from Bagan to Mandalay.Today we will explore the magnificent city of Mandalay.We’ll kick off our exploration with an enjoyable journey to the sprawling Shwe Inn Bin Monastery. Constructed in 1895 of teak wood with a beautiful tiered roof and exquisite carvings, the monastery is representative of traditional Burmese style and home to over 30 monks. After spending some time here, we will head to the beautiful Mahamuni Temple. Here lays the holiest Buddha artefact in Mandalay.
We will then move on to visit a marble carving workshop where we will have the unique opportunity to see workers practicing this traditional trade and hand carving spectacular Buddha images. We will take the time to visit a few other workshops where we can learn about ancient royal handicrafts, tapestry and puppet making before a lunch break at a local tea shop.
After a delicious local lunch, we will continue our explorations at a gold leaf production house where we can learn about this ancient craft and make some for ourselves.
This afternoon we will visit Shwenandaw Monastery, the ‘golden palace’. A grand example of 19th Century Burmese architecture, the monastery is beautifully gilded with gold, adorned with glass mosaic and home to impressive carvings of Buddhist myths.
Our next stop will be the Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the world’s largest book and made out of stunning marble tablets.Then climb up to the Mandalay Hill to see sunset on the Irrawaddy River and Mandalay City view.After sunset, overnight bus to Yangon.
Day 5
Full day tour to Yangon

This morning, enjoy some time relaxing at the hotel. We will kick of today’s adventures with a visit to the breath-taking Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda and its incredible 70-metre-long reclining Buddha.We will continue our stroll through Yangon’s colonial inner city with picture perfect photo stops on the way into downtown. Here we can explore the vast range of fabulous architecture, historical buildings and Asia’s finest colonial charm such as the post office.
After spending some time soaking in the city, we will continue our walk on to Sule Paya, passing by the famous Strand Hotel, Mahabwndoola Garden and the Independence Monument before it’s onwards to absorb the colours and culture of Little India and Chinatown. Later this afternoon we will continue our sightseeing to the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar known as “Shwedagon Pagoda” with its unbelievable 90 metre, gold leaf stupa.
As the sun begins to set on an unforgettable day, we will enjoy the breath-taking views from the Pagoda and surrounding skyline before transferring back to dinner.Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 6
Good Bye
Enjoy some shopping this morning at Bogyoke Aung San market before heading to the airport for conclusion of you tour, farewells and memories to last a lifetime.
