Overview of Tour
A nice day tour from Bagan to combine the Popa and Salay.
Mt Popa is a pilgrimage destination for locals who pay tribute to the Nats(spirits). Amazing landscape from bottom to top of the mountain is unique. Experience cool nature of mountain which located at middle of hot area.
Salay has been an important religious center for centuries, and has many monasteries to see, along with some British colonial-era buildings.
Explore the very unique art at Yoke Sone Monastery, Shin Pin Sar Kyo Hla Pagoda, Mann pagoda and U Phoe Kyi house in Salay.
Mt Popa – Morning
The journey starts with Mount Popa, an extinct volcano.
Rising out of the shimmering heat, Mt. Popa is home to Myanmar’s most powerful “Nats”. Visit the Nat Museum with its life-sized statues of the 37 Nat Gods.
Walk up the steps to the Stupas and shrines that top the hill above the museum, seeing many pilgrims along the way.
Lunch
Lunch will be served at the Poppa Mountain Resort Resturant and take a breath in the amazing scenery from the peak of Mount-Poppa areas.
Salay – Afternoon
After having the great lunch(on your own account), we will continue to visit the Salay city ,located in Chauk Township, approximately 1 hour and half drive away from Bagan.
Salay is well-known for the ancient religious monuments from the Konbaung Dynasty (late 19th Century ).
After take a rest at village the driver will send you to Yoke Sone Monastery, it is famous with its spectacular woodcarvings and also it is the native town of the famous writer Salay U Pone Nya during the time of the Myanmar Kings.
There are very beautiful artistic work woodcarvings around it and also ancient Buddha image, utensils of Yadanarbon 19 century period. After that, Shin Pin Sar Kyo Hla Pagoda, Mann pagoda , U Phoe Kyi house.

The driver will take you back to Bagan and drop you down to your hotel or your location.
