We discovered TMTM through the reviews & we are so glad we did. In advance of our arrival in Myanmar we booked all our land transport arrangements with them. We… read more were a group of five travelling in Myanmar for two weeks from Yangon to Bagan to Mandalay to Inle to Loikaw & then back to Yagan. TMTM arranged all our local transfers as well as providing transport for the longer journeys. They were wholly reliable, their vehicles were all well-maintained, & their prices were very reasonable. They sent us names and phone numbers for all the drivers in advance of our journeys. They took care of what might otherwise have been a lot of worry in planning a trip and we unreservedly recommend them to any one else planning to visit Myanmar.

Today we will explore the magnificent city of Mandalay.
We’ll kick off our exploration with an enjoyable journey to the sprawling Shwe Inn Bin Monastery. Constructed in 1895 of teak wood with a beautiful tiered roof and exquisite carvings, the monastery is representative of traditional Burmese style and home to over 30 monks. After spending some time here, we will head to the beautiful Mahamuni Temple. Here lays the holiest Buddha artefact in Mandalay
We will then move on to visit a marble carving workshop where we will have the unique opportunity to see workers practicing this traditional trade and hand carving spectacular Buddha images. We will take the time to visit a few other workshops where we can learn about ancient royal handicrafts, tapestry and puppet making before a lunch break at a local tea shop.
After a delicious local lunch, we will continue our explorations at a gold leaf production house where we can learn about this ancient craft and make some for ourselves.
This afternoon we will visit Shwenandaw Monastery, the ‘golden palace’. A grand example of 19th Century Burmese architecture, the monastery is beautifully gilded with gold, adorned with glass mosaic and home to impressive carvings of Buddhist myths.
Our next stop will be the Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the world’s largest book and made out of stunning marble tablets. Then climb up to the Mandalay Hill to see sunset on the Irrawaddy River and Mandalay City view.
Overnight at Mandalay Hotel.
Be ready to be picked up by our experienced driver at 08.00am this morning for a scenic 80 km drive to the former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo).
Explore the beautiful old colonial style buildings, waterfalls, former markets and the impressive botanical gardens for a taste of local culture.
Lunch will be served at a hand selected local restaurant before continuing on the Peik Kyin Myaung Caves. We will have the opportunity to explore some impressive waterfalls to the south of the caves.
Overnight at your comfortable Pyin Oo Lwin hotel.
This morning the tour starts at 07:30 after breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station and heading to the Goteik Viaduct. Board a train bound for the historic Gokteik Viaduct, you’ll have sweeping views into the steep ravines and lush forest of the Shan State as you across the 2,260 foot (689mt) viaduct-once the world’s largest railway trestle. And then drop off to the Mandalay.
